Seeds of Hope

Program Description
SEEDS OF HOPE became a Rotary International project in 1980. The program was created in an effort to meet the requirements of the then Rotary Theme of “Health, Hunger and Humanity”; in particular, Hunger. The idea was to provide seeds. The “natural cycle” of growth dictated that ground had to be secured and prepared, seeds had to be found and planted, crops had to be nurtured and, when ripened, harvested.
Benefits to program recipients
Provide seeds to communities for planting and developing crops to be nurtured and harvested for years to come.
Country locations
To fulfill the obligation of this program, seeds are secured and sent to the needy in many places. So far more than 2500 pounds of seeds have been sent to such places as Paraguay, Haiti, Nicaragua, The Seychelles, Argentina, Mexico and several African nations, India and three American Indian Reservations.
Program needs from other Rotary Clubs

District 6450 will long remember the contribution of
Rotarian Bo Lawrence, Chicago Heights Rotarian, to this project.
