Program Description
Provide medical and dental equipment to communities in need throughout the world. Solicit donations and arrange for transportation from donors to recipients in communities around the world.
Benefits to program recipients
The donated equipment is needed to carry out medical and dental treatment by trained individuals for residents in primarily third world countries and communities in need.
Country locations
The dental portion of the project originated with donations from the former Northwestern University Dental Program in Chicago. The Northwestern dental offices were all donated along with supplies and equipment from other dentists. The dental supplies have been sent to communities in Africa, Latin America, North America, and Asia.
Program needs from other Rotary Clubs
While the equipment and supplies are all donated, there is a need for funds to be used in the shipment of the donations to third world countries. As the equipment can be quite large and heavy, the donations most often fill a full or half shipping crate. Monetary donations for shipping from any Rotary Club are appreciated and can be sent to either Carl Schumann or Terry Bartolini.
