Foundation Alumni
Rotary International supports a host of programs and activities worldwide, integrating a large number of people who are scholarship recipients, Foundation Scholars, Group Study Exchange Professionals and other types of Foundation award recipients. Collectively, this group represents a segment of Rotary that is not being effectively tapped for their overall skills, communications efforts, contribution support and generally spreading the word about the benefits of Rotary. While some of these people may in fact already be involved with the Rotarians in the community (including becoming a Rotarian themselves), after their scholarship experience, the vast majority remains untapped following their Rotary-sponsored activity. Many of these people are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities, and continue to informally share information on their Rotary experience.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of creating a collective "Greater Alumni Association" is to continue to keep these people involved in Rotary. It is best to keep people associated with the organization to help promote Rotary and its benefits worldwide. If recipients do not choose to become members, at least they can feel comfortable that they are remaining part of the greater Rotary family in a different way.
District 6450 has not done a very good job of keeping in touch with alumni and we are in the process of changing this. Rick Quackenbush is in the process of putting an alumni committee together that will take effect July 1.
Ø As a Rotarian, if you know anyone in your area that fits the above please
contact Rick Quackenbush with this information.
Ø If any alumni would like to serve on this committee please contact Rick also.
