In Sheboygan, Wisconsin Governor Art was "so pleased with the attendance [561]; a sold out hotel, and an additional 21 condominiums.  I was so happy to see young Rotarians and their families enjoy a Rotary event together as never before.  The facilitiy was exceptional as was the hotel staff. The menu was terrific.  the activities were without compare.  The speakers, PRIP King and PDG Groner, were a cut above.  I truly believe that if you missed this one you missed the big one.  I believe that the success of the Conference could be measured by the attendance at the Sunday Breakfast. The room as almost full; about 350. Usually Sunday has a less than spectacular attendance. My Thanks to the `Dream Team` - the committee that caught my vision and made this conference possible." After PDG Dave Croner of Dowagiac, MI spoke Saturday Evening donations totally $11,000 was received from those attending the conference. DG Art and First Lady Sandy was recognized by Governor`s Representative and PRIP Richard King as Major Donors. Meals were all plated giving the Conference attendees even more timeto sit comfortably and exchange Rotary Ideas! Much of the festivities included the use of the majestic lobby of the Blue Harbor Resort.  We never tired of looking at the beautiful sculpture in the center of the room and the beautiful lawn was just a step away.  It was a lovely setting for the 2008 District Conference. One of the fun things about District Conference is that Rotary Clubs and Rotarians around the District are rewarded for their work for Rotary thoughout the current year.  Patches like these will be appearing at the Rotary Clubs in District 6450 soon.  DG Art created a few new ones of his own this year.  Check the Awards list to see what they were.
