The Future of Rotary Youth Exchange is in Your Hands
Interviews Scheduled for October 31, 2009
Each year District 6450 students are among the 7,000 Rotary Youth Exchange participants who live and study abroad for an academic year. There’s no better way to guarantee the future of Rotary around the world than through Youth Exchange. Being involved in Youth Exchange promotes the understanding and appreciation of the people, cultures and languages of the world.
As a former Rotary Exchange Student, I can personally attest that no other year has made such a difference in my life. Rotary Youth Exchange makes great strides to promoting peace and understanding world-wide. I couldn’t agree more with Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar, President, Rotary International 2005-2006: “My dream is for every 17-year-old to become a Youth Exchange student. If we could achieve this, there would be no more wars.”
Please recruit students in your communities and coach them to attend our District Outbound Interviews. Potential Outbound Candidates and their parents need to attend the interview from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the LaGrange Adventist Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, LaGrange, IL 60525. (Phone 708-245-9000) Please note that this is the only time in the year that we interview outbound students. Please communicate with:
the Outbound Coordinator, Francis Labayen, at 708-275-3988 or fjlabayen@att.net
or
The RYE Dist. Chair, Julia Mullikin at 815-258-5297 or jamullikin@sbcglobal.net if you need further information.
