The Rotary Club of Naperville and President Bill Garlough welcomed District Governor Michael, for the Governor`s Official Visit on August 14th.  Naperville is in Area 16, Assistant Governor Jerry Feldott`s assignment. 


 

Assistant Governor Terry Danek (Area 14) was pleased to be present at The Rotary Club of Shorewood when President Bill Conte welcomed Governor Michael.  The Official Visit was held at noon on August 13th.


 

The Rotary Club of Western Springs and President Sharon Flaim welcomed Governor Michael on August 12th for the Governor`s Official Visit.. 


 

 The Rotary Club of Oak Lawn and President David Kobak welcomed Governor Michael.  The Official Visit was held at noon on August 11th.


 

The Rotary Club of Moraine Valley and President Omar Nijib welcomed District Governor Michael, and Assistant Governor Area 11 Eric Wesel for the Governor`s Official Visit on August 7th. 


 

Governor Michael was in Area 6 (AG Mary Doughterty`s assignment) and visited The Rotary Club of Oswego and President Barry Kolanowski.  The Official Visit was held the morning of August 6th.

The Rotary Club of Aurora and President Kathy Tollaksen welcomed District Governor Michael, and Assistant Governor Area 6 Mary Daugherty for the Governor`s Official Visit August 4th.  Present for the photo was PDG Ed Fauth (1991-1992)  There is lots of District representation in this photo.


When the Rotary Club of Joliet celebrated it`s 95th Anniversary July 31(which is a huge accomplishment), they also celebrated Joliet Rotarians with 30 plus years of service.  25 members qualified for this honor.

recognized the honorees, Governor Michael felt very honored to be included in this photograph.


 

The Rotary Club of Elmhurst and President Maryann Gorski welcomed Governor Michael and Assistant Governor Leon Wilson of Area 2 on July 31st.  This marked the occassion of the Official Visit.


 

The Rotary Club of Tinley Park-Frankfort and President Karen Wegrzyn welcomed Governor Michael and Assistant Governor Eric Wesel of Area 11 for the Official Visit.


 

The Rotary Club of Addison and President Cal George welcomed Governor Michael on July 30th for the Official Visit held July 30th.


 

The Rotary Club Aurora Sunrise and President Mike Smith welcomed Governor Michael and and Assistant Governor Area 6 Mary Dougherty. 

Once again, this was the Official Visit held July 30th.




The Rotary Club of Brookfield-Riverside and President Betty LeClere welcomed Governor Michael and AG Area 15 Dennis Gorman. 

This was the Official Visit held July 29th.




With the help of AG Area 14 Terry Danek, President Harry McSteen and the Rotary Club of Channahon-Minooka was well prepared for the Official Visit July 29th by Governor Michael Slevnik.




President Russ Jensen and the members of the Manteno Rotary Club were happy to listen to Governor Michael`s remarks at the Official Vist on July 28th.


The July 26th Grants Seminar held at the Oaks in Burr Ridge was well attended.  Just a couple photos...
 



The Rotary Club
of Lansing and President Ed Lugowski welcomed Governor Michael July 25th for the official visit.


 

The Rotary Club of Naperville Downtown along with President Jim Boyajian gave Governor Michael a hearty welcome July 23rd during afternoon meeting held at 4:44 p.m.


The Rotary Club of Romeoville and President Karen Barbush entertained Governor Michael for Breakfast on July 23rd.  Governor Michael delivered his address and then photos were taken to commemorate the occasion.  Present also was Assistant Governor Wayne Kwiat Jr for Area 10.


 

About 160 Rotarians and friends attended the Area 9 Rotary Baseball Fundraiser to benefit Easter Seals July 22 at the Windy City Thunderbolts Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood.  Infortunately the home team lost.

Governor Michael was honored to be invited to make the first pitch.


The Rotary Club of Blue Island Crestwood was visited by Governor Michael July 22 along with Assistant Governor David Templin for Area 9.  President Janet Slawinski welcomed the Governor for the official visit.

The Rotary Club of Plainfield welcomed Governor Michael July 21st.  Joe Conklin, President, assisted the Governor during this official visit.  

Also in attendance was Wayne Kwiat, Sr., Assistant Governor for Area 10.


Bob Airdo was installed by Governor Michael July 19th
for the Rotary Club of Westmont.


 

The Rotary Club of Park Forest and new President James N. Settles Sr. welcomed Governor Michael for his Official Visit July 17th. 

AG Area 12 Geoff Slawson was also in attendance.


 

President Tom Paravola and The Rotary Club of Elmhurst Morning welcomed Governor Michael for his Official Visit July 17th. 

Also in attendance was AG Area 2, Leon Wilson.


 

July 16th Governor Michael was attending an official visit with the Rotary Club of Chicago Near South.  President Freddye Smith is seated to the Governor`s left


 

The Rotary Club of Moraine Valley invited Governor Michael to perform the Installation of Officers.  Shown with Governor Michael is Omar Njib taking the oath of office.



Central States Youth Exchange Conference
was held July 11-13. 
Governor Michael was proud to represent District 6450
and participate in the proceedings.

Particularily impressive was the gathering of the
District 6450 Youth Exchange Students.



 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the third year Governor Michael has attended Central States Conference for Youth Exchange in Grand Rapids, MI.  Particularily interested in the Youth program, Governor Michael has directed that all funds from BusNet Ads goes toward the Youth Programs such as this.


 

President Lelia Hirsch and The Rotary Club of Chicago Heights celebrated the Governor`s visit by taking a group photo.  The official visit took place July 10th.


 

 

The Rotary Club of Park Forest Installation Ceremony was conducted by Governor Michael.  

James Settles Sr. was installed as President.


 

Governor Slevnik was at the Downer`s Grove Rotary Club for the Installation of Officers July 7th.  The Governor was proud to congratulate the new President, Mark Grippando.


Dwight Rotary Club holds a Steak Fry the first Wednesday of the month at the city park during the summer months.  At the July event, Governor Michael was on hand to help recognize Dell Hancock for 49 years of perfect attendance.

Recognition of Dwight High School Students who joined the Armed services during the time of war is also done annually.  Three young men were honored.

Two students were awarded Scholarships to the Joliet Junior College for two years.  Newly installed President Dale Adams officiated the presentations.

and inducted the incoming officers.  New President Ron Oestreich

Clock Tower
Dedication

 

 

 

One of the last acts of  Dist Governor Art Davis was to officiate at the Rotary Club of Chicago Southeasts "Clock Tower" Event.  The dedication of the clock was Monday evening, June 30th.  Also in attendance was Governor-Elect Michael who`s first day as Governor actually is July 1.


The Governor`s Installation was a lovely Event held June 28th in the Gaelic Park Banquet Room.  Many guests were present to witness the changing of the guard for District 6450..

Click here for Homewood Rotary`s Scrapbook pages of the Event.  Homewood Rotary is the Home Club of Governor Slevnik and was responsible for hosting the event.  Chairman for the evening was PDG Rick Thiernau.  With the installation of Govenror Michael, Homewood now has six District Governor`s in their history.

Tina Adds 
A Piece to the Puzzle
at Zone
.

During Zone the incoming Governor and his class prepares a presention to give at the International assembly.  This year`s governor`s class prepared a puzzle with each District in the zone contributing a piece. 

Tina, DGE Michael`s Fiancé, prepared the piece for Distirct 6450.
